Stone Spotlight - Coral

OK ok... Coral isn't actually a stone... However its popular usage in jewelry and decorative items gains it an honorary place in my Stone Spotlights.

Coral - While not a stone, coral is used in jewelry and has been for a very long time. There are generally accepted healing properties of coral. Coral is said to have been used by sailors for protection while on the water. Fitting, since Coral is actually the skeletal remains of living sea organisms.  Perhaps the wisdom it is also said to inspire, has an affect on the protection it gives.

Special note on the above necklace, it was made with branch coral that was brought back from the far east by great uncle who was a sailor.
